This emulator is connected to the respective control unit in place of the seat occupation mat and simulates a permanent occupancy of the seat by an adult passenger (even if no one is sitting on it).

Thus, the operation of the passenger airbag is ensured in the event of a collision. The deactivated seat occupation mat can remain in the seat.
A removal of the seat is not necessary in most cases.
