The Consult II combines a PowerPC microprocessor with a touch screen and an integrated graphical line printer to produce a robust full-function Scan Tester. It supports measurements of analog signals via a built-in oscilloscope and graphing multimeter, utilizes two expansion PCMCIA card slots, and has a built-in Ethernet port to hook into local area networks directly at the dealership. The Consult II Scan Tester was designed with a dedicated software authoring system to facilitate Nissan's diagnostic software authoring efforts.
